Major & LCTP (Local Competency Training Program) Airport List

Major and LCTP Positions Defined:

Under VATUSA policy, ARTCCs are allowed to assign certain facilities within their airspace a "major" status. ARTCCs are also allowed to assign certain positions within their airspace under their Local Competency Training Plan (LCTP). These fields/positions are assigned such status due to a number of elements. Traffic counts, airspace complexity, LoA with adjacent facilities etc. Once a field or position falls under a major or LCTP status extra training is required by the controller to receive a certification to control at these facilities/positions.

  • KLWM - Lawrence
  • KMHT - Manchester
  • KOQU - Quonset State
  • KOWD - Norwood
  • KPVD - Providence

LCTP Facilities (APP):

  • BOS_X_APP - Boston Approach
  • MHT_X_APP - Boston Approach
  • BDL_X_APP - Bradley approach
  • PVD_X_APP - Providence Approach
  • ALB_X_APP - Albany Approach
  • CAPE_X_APP - Cape Approach

  • KSYR - Syracuse
  • KRME - Griffiss
  • KSCH - Schenectady
  • KALB - Albany
  • KBAF - Barnes
  • KCEF - Westover
